Investigation into activities of dissident republicans - Court appearance

Man to appear before a sitting of the Special Criminal Court today, the 19th July 2011.

Gardai investigating dissident republicans, arrested 10 males on the 14th July 2011. One male  appeared before a sitting of the Special Criminal Court on Sunday, the 17th July 2011, he was remanded in custody to Portlaoise Prison.
 
 A second male in his 50's will appear before a sitting of the Special Criminal Court, Parkgate Street at 5pm today, the 19th July 2011.
 
The other 8 males have been release without charge and investigations are ongoing.

As part of an investigation into the activities of dissident republicans, Gardai have last night (14th July 2011) arrested ten men.

The arrests took place in the Balbriggan area of County Dublin at about 10.00p.m. 

The ten men, who range in age from their mid 20's to their 40's, are detained at Santry, Swords, Blanchardstown, Pearse Street and Malahide Garda Stations under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
