Fatal road traffic collision in Galway on the 5/7/11

Gardaí at Gort are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N67 between Kinvara and Ballyvaughan at Roo Demesne.

Two people on a motorcycle were killed after the bike they were on collided with a car.  The driver (a man in his 70’s) and his pillion passenger (a woman in her 60’s) were pronounced dead at the scene.

The road is closed at present to facilitate a forensic collision investigation and diversions are in place.
