Drug seizure and arrests in Wicklow on the 5/7/11

As the result of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Wicklow Division, a forested area was searched at Garnagowlan, Woodenbridge, Avoca late this afternoon, Tuesday 5th July 2011.

During the search €102,000 of cannabis resin and weeed were seized (subject to further analysis) and a 36 year old man and a 23 year old woman were arrested.

They are being detained at Arklow Garda Station under Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act.

The operation was surveillance driven and was carried out by the Wicklow District Drugs Unit.
