Graduation Ceremony, Garda College Templemore - 27th January 2011

The Minister of State at the Department of Finance with special responsibility for the O.P.W. Mr Martin Mansergh T.D. presented Certificates to 126 Gardaí (38 Females and 88 Males) at a Graduation Ceremony at the Garda College, Templemore today, the 27/1/11.

The COMMISSIONER’S MEDAL – awarded to the Student achieving the highest aggregate marks in academic subjects was won by Garda Eamon Honan, a native of Dublin, and who will be stationed at Fitzgibbon Street Garda Station, Dublin.

The GARY SHEEHAN MEMORIAL MEDAL - commemorating a Recruit Garda who was killed on duty in Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim, in December, 1983 is awarded to the best all-round Student - Garda Neasa Ni Chearnaigh, a native of Gaoth Dobhair was awarded this prize.  Garda Ni Chearnaigh will be attached to Sligo Garda Station.

THE TEMPLEMORE TOWN COUNCIL MEDAL - for outstanding achievement and appreciation in the area of Social Science Studies, was presented to Garda Darragh Lynch, a native of Stillorgan, Co. Dublin, and he will be stationed at Balbriggan Garda Station.
