Drugs operation Drogheda

As part of on-going investigations by members of An Garda Siochana and the PSNI into Drug trafficking , detectives from the Garda National Drugs Unit stopped a Northern registered vehicle travelling Northbound on the M1 near the Drogheda Toll Plaza at approx 9.30am on the 28th Jan 2011.

The car was searched and 30 kilos of cannabis herb (subject to analysis) and 75 kilos of cannabis resin (subject to analysis) were seized with a combined market value of €810,000. The driver and only occupant of the car was arrested and is being detained at Balbriggan Garda station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
