Gardaí at Roscommon are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Ballydangan, Roscommon (R446) on the old Athlone to Ballinasloe Road at approximately 8.30pm this evening, the 23/2/11.
An elderly female pedestrian was struck by a car and fatally injured. No other person injured.
The scene of the collision is currently closed to facilitate a forensic collision investigation. Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to use the M6.
