Gardaí at Athy are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 4.30pm this afternoon, Tuesday 27th December2011, on the R418 at Youngstown. This is the Kilcullen to Athy Road.
An SUV collided with a car resulting in the death of the 59 year old female driver of the car. Her 16 year old female front seat passenger was seriously injured.
The male driver of the SUV (30’s) and his female front seat passenger (20’s) also received serious injuries.
All parties have been taken to Naas General Hospital.
The road between Fontstown Cross and Kilmeade Village has been closed and diversions are in place.
