Drug seizure and arrest in Leitrim on the 13th April 2011

Gardai in Carrick-on-Shannon carried out a number of searches today, the 13th April 2011.

<_o3a_p>The Gardai searched a total of 7 premises (6 in South Leitrim and 1 in Elphin, Co. Roscommon) during the course of the searches a large number of cannabis plants were seized with a street value of approx. €84,000 (subject to analysis).

Two men in their 50’s were arrested and are being detained in Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Sttation under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.<_o3a_p>
