Incident in Sandymount, Dublin on the 28/9/10 - Update

In relation to previous Press Release below (issued on Tuesday, the 28th September 2010),

The 49 year old motorist who was hospitalised having sustained head injuries in the course of an incident was pronounced dead at Beaumont Hospital this evening, the 30th September 2010.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place tomorrow.

Gardaí continue to appeal to any person who witnessed the incident or have any information to contact Irishtown Garda Station on 01 6669600 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111. The incident occurred at the junction of Sandymount Road/Newbridge Avenue and Tritonville Road, Sandymount, Dublin 4.

There is no further information at present.

Gardaí at Irishtown are investigating an incident which occurred between two motorists on Sunday 26th September 2010 at 7.25pm approximately.

It happened at the junction of Sandymount Road/Newbridge Avenue and Tritonville Road, Sandymount, Dublin 4.

This incident resulted in serious head injuries to a 49 year old man.  At the time this man was taken to St. Vincents Hospital but was subsequently transferred to Beaumont.

Gardaí would like to appeal to any person who witnessed the incident and request that they contact Irishtown Garda Station on 01 6669600.
