Fatal traffic collision Kildare

Gardai at Athy, Co. Kildare, are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the M7, at the M7/M9 junction on the 1st Oct 2010.

The collision occurred at approximately 11am between a car and a pedestrian. The male pedestrian(68yrs) was pronounced dead at the scene. He was removed to Naas General Hospital.

A number of lanes were closed after the collision to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Examination. All lanes have  now re-opened.

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses to this collision or to anyone that may have travelled this stretch of road around the time of the collision, to contact Athy Garda Station on 059 8631669, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
