Murder of Stephen O'Meara - Further Arrest

Gardai at Wicklow investigating the murder of Stephen O' Meara have arrested a 42 year old man.

The man was arrested in Gorey, Co. Wexford at approximately 11.30am this morning, the 21/1/10.


He is currently detained at Bray Garda Station under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

There has been an arrest as part of the investigation into the death of Stephen O'Meara

Gardai at Wicklow investigating the murder of Stephen O Meara have arrested a 46 year old man today,  Sunday the 17th January, 2010 at 11.14a.m.

The man is currently detained at Wicklow Garda Station under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Gardai investigating the disappearance of Stephen O’ Meara have today (24/12/09) discovered what appears to be a body in a shallow grave in a wooded area at Ballydonnell which is near Red Cross, Co Wicklow.

The body was discovered at approximately 2.30pm today

The office of the State Pathologist has been notified and the scene has been preserved pending the arrival of a Garda Technical Bureau team.

A man in his 20’s who was arrested on Monday 21st December ’09 as part of this investigation remains in custody in Wicklow Garda Station. He is detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007. His period of detention has been extended.
