Fatal shooting in Limerick city on the 22/2/10 - Witness appeal

Gardai investigating the fatal shooting on the Ennis Road outside Limerick this morning (22/02/10) are seeking the publics assistance.

Gardai wish to trace the whereabouts of a red Toyota Corolla 96 LK 1814.

Gardai in Limerick  investigating the circumstances of a shooting in which a 35 year old male was fatally injured at approximately 6.30am this morning, the 22nd February 2010 will provide a Press Briefing today, the 22nd February 2010 at 4pm at Mayorstone Garda Station, in connection with the incident.

Gardai in Henry Street Garda Station, Limerick are investigating the circumstances of a shooting in which a 35 year old male was fatally injured at approximately 6.30am on this morning, the 22nd February 2010.

The incident occurred at a petrol station on the Ennis Road approximately 3 miles outside Limerick City.  The body of the deceased man remains at the scene.

The Office of the State Pathologist has been contacted.

One man has been arrested and is being detained in Mayorstone Garda Station under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

The 29 year old male was arrested in Limerick City earlier this morning the 22nd February 2010.

There is no further information at present but updates will be provided in due course.
