Fatal road traffic collision on the 25/12/10 at the N11 at Coynes Cross, Wicklow- Renewed appeal

Gardai at Wicklow are renewing their appeal for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the N11 at Coynes Cross, Co Wicklow, on the 25th December 2010. (Previous press release below refers).

Gardai in particular wish to speak to the driver of a van who may have stopped on the northbound carriageway of the N11 near exit 14 (Coynes Cross) at approximately 1.30am on the 25/12/2010.

Gardai in Co. Wicklow are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 1.30am on 25th December 2010 at Coynes Cross, Ashford, County Wicklow which resulted in the death of a 41 year old man.

The man who died was walking on the N11 southbound at Coynes Cross. He was pronounced dead at the scene and removed to Loughlinstown Hospital.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who travelled on the N11 southbound between 12.30am and 1.45am on the 25th Dec 2010 and who may have noticed this man walking or who may have witnessed the collision or who may have seen a Black Fiat Diablo van 09 WW    prior to the collision to contact the Gardai at Bray Garda Station on 01 6665300, Wicklow Garda Station 0404 60140 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

The N11 was closed for a Forensic Collision Examination and was re-opened at 3pm on the 25th December.

A 21yr old male as later arrested under road traffic legislation and brought to Gorey Garda Station. He was subsequently released.
