Body of female discovered Dublin - update

Gardai investigating the discovery of the body of a female in Porterstown this afternoon have arrested a male in his late teens.

He is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

Arrangements are being made to remove the body from the scene to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, where a post mortem examination will be held tomorrow morning the 29th of August.

Gardai are investigating the discovery of the body of a young female this afternoon, the 28th of August 2010.  The body was found near the Royal canal at Porterstown, Dublin 15.

The body remains at the scene and a technical examination of the area is being carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau.  The State Pathologist Dr. Marie Cassidy is also at the scene.
