Fire at Bridge Street, Dundalk, Louth on the 15/4/10

Gardai are appealing for information following a fire at a retail unit on Bridge Street, Dundalk on 15th April 2010.

At approx 12 noon a lone male entered a shop unit. He proceeded to set fire to what Gardai believe to be an accelerant filled container which caused extensive fire damage to the premises.


There were no customers in the shop at the time and the only staff member present escaped uninjured.


The emergency services were called to the scene and the fire was brought under control. 


The scene has been preserved pending a technical examination.   


No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.


The male is described as follows:- approximately 5’9’’ in height, of stocky build, with red hair. He was wearing what is described as a black hooded top blue jeans and is thought to be aged in his 30s .
