Gardaí in Castlecomer are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Julianstown, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny at approximately 10.30pm last night, Friday April 2nd 2010.
A 67 year old male pedestrian was struck by a car at the above location, he was removed by Ambulance to St. Lukes Hospital in Kilkenny where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The scene of the collision was sealed off while a Forensic Technical Examination was carried out and traffic diversions were put in place. The road has now re-opened.
