Discovery of male body on St. Rita’s Avenue, Cork on the 17/4/10 - Arrest

Gardai in Gurranabraher have arrested a male this morning.

Gardai in Gurranabraher have arrested a male, this morning, in his early 30's in relation to the discovery of the body at the rear of a house at St. Rita’s Avenue, Gurranabraher, Cork and he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Gurranabraher Garda Station.

Gardai at Gurranabraher are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of the body of a male believed to be in his early 30’s at the rear of a house at St. Rita’s Avenue, Gurranabraher, Cork this morning at approximately 6.40 a.m.

The scene has been sealed off. The Garda Technical Bureau are at scene and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified. A post mortem is likely to take place later today.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who was in the Grandfather Road / St. Rita’s Avenue area between 5am and 7am on Saturday, the 17th April, 2010 and who may have observed anything unusual or anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation to contact Gurranabraher Garda Station on 021 4946200, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
