Drug seizure and arrest at Dunboyne, Meath on the 17/9/09 - Court appearances

This seizure has an estimated street value of €6.6 million. Two men charged.

 

The first man arrested in relation to this incident appeared in court yesterday, the 19/9/09 and was remanded to appear before Cloverhill District Court at 10.30am on 24th September 2009.

 

A second man was arrested yesterday (in Carlow) and was detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

 

He has subsequently been charged and will appear before Blanchardstown District Court at 10.30am tomorrow morning, 21st September 2009.

As the result of a joint Garda and Customs operation 1.1 million tonnes of Cannabis resin was discovered at an industrial premises in Dunboyne, Co. Meath this evening, the 17/9/09.

 

This seizure, subject to a forensic analysis, has an estimated street value of €6.6 million.

 

A male in his 30's was arrested close to the scene and is presently being detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

 

Investigations into this discovery are continuing.
