Discovery of a suspect device in Donegal Town on the 11/9/09

The device was located at 7am by a member of the public on Main Street in Donegal Town.

 

Gardaí in Donegal investigating the discovery of a suspect device in Donegal Town in the early hours of the 11th September 2009 are appealing for witnesses, or anybody with information, to contact them.

 

The device was located at 7am by a member of the public on Main Street in Donegal Town.  Gardaí cordoned off and evacuated the area. The Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal team attended the scene, and after removing and examining the device, declared it a viable improvised explosive device (IED).
