Death of a male in Ballyfermot, Dublin on the 27/9/09 - investigation underway

The incident took place in the carpark of a pub off Park West Road in Dublin.

 

A man in his 40's has died in Tallaght Hospital following an incident at a bar in the Ballyfermot area of Dublin.  The man had been taken to the hospital with what appeared to be a stab wound to the body.

 

The incident took place in the carpark of a pub off Park West Road in Dublin, at about 2.00 a.m.on the 27th of September 2009.  Gardai had received a call to the area following reports of a large row.  When Gardai arrived they found up to 20 people involved in the disturbance.  Four men were arrested under the Public Order Act and taken to Ballyfermot Garda Station. These men have been released and files will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

 

Medical attention was sought for two men at the scene and they were removed to Tallaght Hospital. One of these men was pronounced dead at about 10.00 a.m this morning, the 27/9/09.  A post mortem examination is scheduled to take place later today. The second man is undergoing treatment at Tallaght Hospital.
