Improvised Explosive Device in Limerick on the 26/10/09

The device was discovered when uniform Gardaí stopped a female in her late teens.

 

Gardaí in Limerick are investigating the discovery of what is believed to be an improvised explosive device at St. Mary’s Park, Limerick city.

 

The device was discovered when uniform Gardaí stopped a female in her late teens at approximately 20.20hrs on the 26th October.

 

An Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal team attended the scene and made the device safe.  Enquiries are ongoing.

 

The woman was arrested and is currently being detained at Henry Street Garda Station under the Provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against The Act, 1939.
