Customs Operation in Louth on the 27/10/09 - Update

All 9 (nine) people arrested as part of the Customs Service operation in Co. Louth on the 27th October 2009 have now been released.

Following this morning’s Revenue Customs Service operation in Co. Louth, which was supported by members from An Garda Síochána, nine people have been arrested.

 

These include seven Irish nationals, all male, aged between 19 and mid 40s, one Lithuanian male in his 50s and one Ukrainian male in his 40's. They are all detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at garda stations in Counties Louth and Monaghan.

 

Gardaí involved in this morning’s operation included members from the Organised Crime Unit, National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the Emergency Response Unit working together with local garda units from Dundalk.
