Graduation Ceremony - 29/1/08

The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Mr. Dermot Aherne, T.D., presented Certificates to 224 Gardaí at a Graduation Ceremony.

 

The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Mr. Dermot Aherne, T.D., presented Certificates to 224 Gardaí (78 Females and 146 Males) at a Graduation Ceremony at the Garda College, Templemore today the 29/1/09.

The COMMISSIONER’S MEDAL was awarded to the Student achieving the highest aggregate marks in academic subjects – was won by Garda Caroline Taafe, a native of Ballintogher, Co Sligo, and who will be stationed at Ballina Garda Station

The GARY SHEEHAN MEMORIAL MEDAL was awarded to Garda Deirdre O’Doherty a native of Moyross Limerick, it commemorates  the Recruit Garda who was killed on duty in Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim, in December, 1983. This prize is awarded to the best all-round Student. Garda O’Doherty will be attached to Ennis Garda Station.

THE TEMPLEMORE TOWN COUNCIL MEDAL, for outstanding achievement and appreciation in the area of Social Science Studies, was presented to Garda Michael O’Sullivan, a native of Greenmount in Cork City, and who will be stationed at Cobh Garda Station.
