The investigations into dissident republican activity in the Dublin area, Gardaí from the Special Detective Unit arrested two men.
The 2 men detained in Donnybrook Garda Station under section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act have been released without charge.
A file will be prepared for The Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to their detentions.

As part of on-going investigations into dissident republican activity in the Dublin area, Gardaí from the Special Detective Unit arrested two men in the Newport Street area of Dublin at approximately 1.30pm today (29/1/09) a firearm was recovered during the course of this operation.
The two men in their 30's and 50's are currently detained at Donnybrook Garda Station under Section 30 Offences against the State Act.
