Shortly after 9am on the 27th February 2009 - as part of an intelligence led operation into organised criminal activity in the north city, Gardai arrested 2 men in their early 30's in the Malahide area, Dublin.
As part of a follow up search a loaded Glock handgun and a quantity of ammunition was recovered.
The males are currently detained in Coolock and Malahide under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act.
This incident is not being linked to this morning's armed incident in Kilteel Co. Kildare.
