Intercultural Family Open Day at Lucan Garda Station, Dublin on the 28/9/08

Intercultural Family Open Day.

On Sunday 28th September 2008, Lucan Garda Station will be the venue for an Intercultural Family Open Day. The event will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Garda Band will be playing for the occasion and there will be "face painting" and other entertainment for children. The Garda Mounted Unit will be there and visitors will also be able to learn about some of the other specialist Garda units including the Garda Dog Unit and Motorcycle Unit. Visitors will also be able to tour the station and get advice from crime prevention officers and community gardaí.

Hosted by Superintendent Patrick Clavin who is in charge of Lucan Garda District, the day is aimed at strengthening relationships between local gardaí and the local community, particularly members of the our non-Irish national community.

Everyone is welcome to visit the station and enjoy the day’s events. Last September Lucan hosted a similar event which attracted over 600 people and gardaí are hoping for a similar turnout this year.

Lucan Garda District comprises Lucan, Leixlip and Ronanstown Garda Stations.
