As part of an operation investigating subversive activities, Gardai have searched an apartment at Park West in Dublin 10 and five men in their twenties have been arrested and court appearance.
Five men detained by Gardai under Section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act since the 9th of September are expected to appear at a sitting of the Special Criminal Court at 11.00 a.m on the 11th of September, charged in relation to the incident.
The men were arrested in the early hours of the 9th of September at an apartment in the Park West area of the city.

As part of an operation investigating subversive activities, Gardai have searched an apartment at Park West in Dublin 10 and five men in their twenties have been arrested.
The operation was carried out by Gardai from the Special Detectives Unit at Harcourt Square in the early hours of the 9th of September 2008.
The men are detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act and may be detained for up to 72 hours. Three men are detained at Blackrock Garda Station and two at Shankill Garda station.
During the search a quantity of equipment which could be used in the manufacture of pipebombs was recovered. An army EOD team was called and the area was declared safe. The scene has been preserved for technical examination by crime scene examiners from the Garda Technical Bureau.
