Armed robbery at Swords, Dublin on the 23/9/08.

At approximately 10am this morning (23/9/08) a security man making a delivery to a bank on the Sword Roads was approached.

 

Gardai at Santry are investigating a robbery of a security van near Dublin airport this morning. 

At approximately 10am this morning (23/9/08) a security man making a delivery to a bank on the Sword Roads was approached by two men, who were believed to be armed and wearing balaclavas.  An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.  During the robbery one staff member of the security company received minor injuries to his hand.  Both men fled the scene on a motorcycle, which was driven by a third man.  The motorcyle was found abandoned a short distance away from the scene of the robbery. 

Gardai are investigating a witness report that one shot was fired.  No further information is available at this stage.
