All Ireland Football Final - Sunday, 21st September 2008, at Croke Park.

The All Ireland Football Final takes place on Sunday, 21st September 2008, at Croke Park. 

Stiles Open at 12.00pm.  Throw in at 13.30hrs and 15.30hrs.  Event Finishing at 16.55hrs  Expected attendance is 82,300. The above game will attract an expected crowd of approximately 82,300. Parking Arrangements 

Patrons are advised that there is one supervised car-parking facilities available in the vicinity of Croke Park.  1.     Clonliffe College, Clonliffe Road, Drumcondra (access via Lower Drumcondra Road). 

2.     O Connell’s Schools, North Richmond Street.

No Traffic will be permitted to leave the car Parks for approx 45 minutes after the games, in order to allow foot patrons leave the area safely.  Patrons should be aware that illegally parked vehicles may be impounded or clamped and may be liable to a fine of €130.00.  Patrons should park responsibly and not cause obstruction or inconvenience when parking in residential areas.   Drivers should be aware that illegally or improperly parked vehicles have the potential to cause traffic disruption, obstruction and more importantly can cause major difficulty to emergency vehicles that may need to access the narrow residential streets that surround Croke Park, and will be clamped.   

Traffic congestion:  Patrons, particularly those intending to park at Clonliffe College are strongly advised to arrive at their destination in good time before the commencement of the games. Car parks will be open from 10.00hrs  Supporters arriving via the M50 /M1 Motorways are advised to allow time for traffic delays.

The Dublin Port Tunnel will be open to all vehicles.  Patrons travelling on the M50 to Drumcondra Road or M50 to Navan Road, North Circular Road should be aware that these routes will take them directly to Croke Park. Patrons are urged to utilise the Car parking facilities at Clonliffe College and as they are adjacent to Drumcondra Road on which they will be approaching. The Gardai will have in place plans to assist patrons leaving these car Parks after the games. 

Return Journey - Gardaí have prepared a route to assist vehicles to depart Clonliffe College car park as quickly as possible following the event. This route will assist  all match traffic away from the stadium.  From the Stadium patrons will have the option of travelling on the M50 to the Ashbourne Road (N2), Navan Road (N3), Lucan Road (N4) and Naas Road (N7).  

The traffic plan will involve utilising the following streets : 

1.  Fairview Strand, Malahide Road, Belcamp Lane (N32), to the M50 motorway.  

2.  Richmond Road, Grace Park Road, Collins Avenue, Swords Road, to junction of M50 motorway.  

3.  Poplar Row, Eastwall Rd, to Port Tunnel, to M50, and M1. 

4.  Drumcondra Road, Swords Road, to junction of M50 motorway. 

5. Whitworth Road, Prospect Road, Finglas Road, to the M50 motorway. 

6. North Circular Road, New Cabra Road, Navan Road to the M50 motorway. 

7. Dorset St., Bolton Street, South Quays, St Johns Rd Con Colbert Rd, Chapelizod, Lucan Rd to the (N4) 

9. Dorset St., Bolton St., South Quays, St Johns Rd West, South Circular Rd, Inchicore Td, Tyrconnell Rd ,Nass Rd to N7. 

Crime - Patrons are advised to ensure that property is not left exposed in parked vehicles. They should ensure that car windows, sunroofs are correctly closed. They should ensure the security of personal belongings while on route to and from the stadium i.e. purses/wallets/tickets/ Mobile Phones. 

Ticket Sales - There will be No ticket outlets selling tickets for the game. Be advised to purchase Tickets from official sources only.    

Public Order - Patrons are advised to arrive at the event early) as there will be rigid searches at the Garda cordon points. Patrons are advised that the Gardaí will not permit the consumption of alcohol outside public houses, while walking along the street or in any other public place. Patrons will not be permitted to carry any of the following items into Croke Park: Air horns, flares, bottled alcohol, certain flag-poles or any other implement that could be utilised to cause injury or inconvenience to other patrons. Patrons are encouraged not to carry any unnecessary bags with them into the stadium. Patrons are asked to have consideration for local residents and refrain from anti-social behaviour (drinking and urinating) prior to and during the Event. 

On Sunday 21st September 2008 at 8am a cordon will be put in place by erecting barriers at the following locations, these locations will then be closed to all but authorised traffic. Gardai will be present at these locations to ensure that appropriate traffic diversions are made. Appropriate informational signage will be provided to assist with diversions. 

·        Lower Drumcondra Road/Clonliffe Road. 

·        Lower Drumcondra Road/Fitzroy Avenue. 

·        Lower Drumcondra Road/Whitworth Place. 

·        Lower Drumcondra Road / Belvedere Road 

·        Ballybough Road / Sackville Ave. 

·        Ballybough Road / Foster Terrace. 

·        Ballybough Road / Clonliffe Avenue B 

·        Ballybough Road / O Sullivan Avenue. 

·        Ballybough Road / Clonliffe Avenue A. 

·        Ballybough Road / Clonliffe Road.  

Emergency Routes:  Clonliffe Road / Jones Road is the emergency access route for the Hogan Stand side of the stadium and it is imperative it is kept free of any parked vehicles that may cause obstruction.   Ballybough Road / Sackville Avenue is the emergency access route for the Cusack Stand side of the stadium and it is imperative it is kept sterile and free of any parked vehicles that may cause obstruction. 

Vehicular Access:   Local residents and their immediate families should be in possession of passes to permit access at all barriers subject to crowd movement. The local business community are similarly in possession of passes to allow them access to their premises subject to crowd movement.  All staff employed in Croke Park for the event must be in position of valid accreditation to pass through the Garda Cordon.  No parking will be permitted on the street or roads within the cordon. All VIP Vehicles for Hogan Stand Parking will enter via Fitzroy Ave.   

Parking Arrangements:  There are two supervised car parking facilities available in the vicinity of Croke Park,  1.   Clonliffe College, Drumcondra Rd. – 3,100 spaces & 2.  O’Connell’s School  N.C.R / Richmond Street Nth. - 450 spaces    A number of dedicated routes will assist vehicles to depart the car parks as quickly as possible following the event. Vehicles will have the option of travelling on the M50 to the N2 /N3 /N4 /N7. Vehicles exiting Clonliffe College will use Clonliffe Road Exit. Along with Drumcondra Road Exit   No vehicles will be permitted to exit Clonliffe College Car Park or O’Connell’s School; Car Parks until the area is free of pedestrian traffic.  

Post Event Traffic Routes.  Vehicles that avail of on street parking will be free to choose any of the following routes, via Drumcondra Road, Finglas Road or Navan Road.

Private Bus – Drop and Park Plan - There are a number of designated areas for private busses to drop patrons and park for the duration of the event  Mountjoy Square – South side will be closed to all traffic and will cater for approximately 15 coaches The East and North sides of the square will be used for nose to tail parking and will cater for an additional 16 busses.  Parnell Square – North & East will cater for a further 20 coaches parked nose to tail.  The Square will continue to be used by non event traffic. 3 Western Way – Off Constitutional Hill will be used to park 40 coaches nose to tail.  

Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann – Drop and Go Plan - The West side of Mountjoy Square will be used as the designated area for Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann to drop off patrons attending the event.

Special Needs Arrangements:   There are no parking facilities for people with special needs inside the Garda Cordon.  There are a number of designated parking places for this purpose within the car park in Clonliffe College.   Entry to these places is via Drumcondra Road. An area at each of the main entry points for patrons with vehicles to drop passengers with special needs.
