Renewed Appeal for information- Death of David Whyte (Body discovered 26th Sept 2008 Palmerstown): 

Gardai at Ballyfermot investigating the death of David Whyte are renewing their appeal to the public for information.   In particular Gardai are appealing to anyone with information regarding the movements of David Whyte between the following time period   - Thursday the 25th September 2008 to Friday the 26th September 2008 at 5.30 pm when his body was discovered. David Whyte was in Phibsboro around midnight on the 24th/ 25th September 2008.

Investigators wish to emphasise that continuing media speculation about the circumstances surrounding this murder, and about the victim, are deeply unhelpful to the investigation and may be potentially prejudicial.  We would strongly urge the media to exercise caution and responsibility in the ongoing reporting of this investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Ballyfermot Garda Station on 01 666 7200 or the Garda confidential line 1800 666 111.  No Press briefing's will be facilitated at this time, updates will be issued.

Gardai at Ballyfermot investigating the death in Palmerstown on Friday the 26/09/08 have named the male discovered as David Whyte, New Cabra Road, Dublin, aged 35 years.

Gardai at Ballyfermot investigating the death of the man in Palmerstown on Friday 26/9/09. (See below Press Release) have this evening formally identified him. We are not releasing his name at this time.  The Gardai would like to take this opportunity to thank the media for their help.

As part of on-going investigation in the the death of a man, who's body was discovered at Palmerstown on Friday, Gardai are seeking the publics assistance in establishing the  identity of the man.   Superintendent John Quirke will hold a short press briefing at Ballyfermot Garda Station at 3.00pm on Monday the 29th of September 2008 and further details will be released to the media.

Gardai investigating the death of a man, whose body was discovered at Palmerstown on the Friday the 26th of September 2008 are appealing for the publics help in trying to identify the victim.   He is described as in his thirties, about 6'1'' ,strong build, he was clean shaven, and he had a very tight haircut. The man was wearing a brown Gap t-shirt, with the word Gap written across the front, black jeans, white runners and a silver Casio G-Shock watch.

Superintendent John Quirke will brief the press at 12 mid day today at Ballyfermot Garda Station in relation to the discovery of the body of a male at Palmerstown on the 26/09/08.  Previous press release 1120/08, listed below refers.

11:00 hrs 27/09/08. 

Gardai at Ballyfermot are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body of a male in his 40's in grounds off Mill Lane, Palmerstown , Dublin 20, shortly after 5pm this evening ( 26/09/08 ).  The scene has been preserved for technical examination and the State Pathologist's office has been notified.  The investigation into the circumstances of the death is continuing and any updates will be issues.
