Investigation into Killester robbery and death on the 8/10/08 - and updates

Gardai at Clontarf Garda Station are investigating the death of a man in his twenties following an incident at a shop in Killester, Dublin 5 at 8.30pm on the 8th of October 2008.

 

Gardai at Clontarf have named the man who died following an incident in Killester yesterday evening. He was Paul Howe, 23yrs from Tallaght in Dublin. 

Gardai have renewed their appeal for information to anyone who was in the Killester area between 8pm and 9pm to contact Clontarf Garda Station 01 666 4800 or the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111.

As part of their investigation into the death of a man in his twenties at Killester on the 9th of October 2008, Gardai have arrested a second man.  The man who is also in his 20's was arrested this morning and is detained at Raheny Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.  Gardai are renewing their appeal for anyone who was in the Killester area yerterday evening to contact them at Clontarf Garda Station.

Gardai at Clontarf Garda Station are investigating the death of a man in his twenties following an incident at a shop in Killester, Dublin 5 at 8.30pm on the 8th of October 2008. 

Gardai  attended the scene following reports of a robbery.  An injured man was discovered near the carpark of the shop and he was removed by ambulance to Beaumont Hospital where he later died.  A post mortem examination will be carried out by the State Pathogolist 

As part of the investigation into the death a man in his thirties has been arrested and he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, at Raheny Garda Station.  The scene of the incident remains sealed off pending examination by Garda crime scene examiners. 

Gardai are appealing for anyone who was in the Killester area between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. to contact Clontarf Garda Station on 01 666 4800.
