Taxi robberies at Finglas Dublin and Court appearance

As a result of a spate of robberies carried out on taxi drivers in the Finglas area over the last 2 weeks a Garda operation was put in place.

 

The 28 year old man arrested in relation to this incident will appear before Dublin District Court 46 at 10.30am. on the 2/5/08.

As a result of a spate of robberies carried out on taxi drivers in the Finglas area over the last 2 weeks a Garda operation was put in place. 

This operation was carried out by Garda members working on Operation Anvil and members of the Blanchardstown Crime Task Force. They were assisted by members of the Detective Unit in Finglas. 

Just after mid night last night Garda personnel working on this operation saw a taxi turning away from a checkpoint they had put in place on the Rataoth Road.  

They followed this taxi and stopped it in a cul de sac just off the Ratoath Road and arrested it’s 28 year old male fare. 

A syringe was also recovered. 

This man was taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station where he is presently detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
