Drug seizure and arrests at Dalkey, Dublin on the 17/5/08 - and update.

Gardai from the Garda National Drugs Unit and Dun Laoghaire Drugs Unit have arrested three men and seized a quantity of drugs following an operation at Dalkey, Co Dublin.

 

One of the two men (29 years) being detained in Dun Laoghaire Garda Station following the seizure of drugs in Dalkey yesterday (Previous release below refers), will appear in Dun Laoghaire District court tomorrow - 19th May 2008 at 10.30am charged in relation to the incident.   

The 52 year old man being detained in Blackrock in relation to the same incident will also appear in Dun Laoghaire District court tomorrow at 10.30am charged in relation to the incident. 

The third man who was being detained in Dun Laoghaire Garda station in relation to the incident has been released and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

Gardai from the Garda National Drugs Unit and Dun Laoghaire Drugs Unit have arrested three men and seized a quantity of drugs following an operation at Dalkey, Co Dublin at 3.00p.m on the 17th of May 2008.  

A car was stopped and searched on Corrig Road, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, a quantity  of herbal cannabis was discovered and the two occupants were arrested. 

In a follow up search at a house also at Corrig Road, a quantity of cocaine was recovered and a third man was arrested.

The men, who range in ages from late 20's to  mid 50's, are detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at Dun Laoghaire and Blackrock Garda Stations and can be detained for up to seven days. 

Subject to analysis the drugs seized may have a street value of €150,000.
