In an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Carlow area members of the Carlow Gardai searched a house at Kernanstown, Bennekerry, Co. Carlow.
As a result of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Carlow area members of the Carlow Detective Unit, assisted by uniformed members, searched a house at Kernanstown, Bennekerry, Co. Carlow.
During the course of the search 20kg's of cannabis herb was seized, along with a small quantity of cocaine.
The street value of this seizure is believed to be in the region of €150,000, depending on an analysis of the substances seized.
A 32 year old man was arrested at the scene and was detained at Carlow Garda station under Section 2 of The Drug trafficking Act.
He was subsequently released without charge and a file will be prepared for The Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the matter.
