Witness appeal - Cork death on the 12/7/08 - and update.

Gardai investigating the death of a 69 year old man are appealing for witnesses to contact them at an incident room which has been set up at Togher Garda Station.

 

Gardai investigating the death of a 69 year old man, whose body was discovered today, the 12th of July in Cork city, are appealing for witnesses to contact them at an incident room which has been set up at Togher Garda Station in Cork City, telephone number 021-494-7120. 

They would like to hear from anyone who was in the St. Francis Avenue, College Road of the city between 11.30 p.m on Friday the 11th of July and 1.00 p.m on Saturday the 12th of July, particularly anyone who may have seen a male in his mid twenties, described as 6' and of thin build. 

He may have been carrying two small bags or rucksacks. 

Gardai would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a man fitting this description on the Cork to Kinsale road. 

There are two routes linking Cork and Kinsale either via halfway or pasted the airport. 

Taxi or hackney drivers or indeed anyone who may have given a lift a man fitting this description are asked to contact Garda at Togher Garda Station.

The Gardai at Togher, Co Cork are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body in a house at St Francis Ave, College Road, Togher. 

The body of the man believed to be in his 60's was discovered at approx 1pm today (Sat 12th July 2008).

The scene is currently undergoing a forensic and technical examination by Gardai.  No further information at this time.
