Fatal road traffic collision on the Cashel to Clonmel road on the 12/7/08 - and update.

Gardai are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the Cashel to Clonmel road in Co. Tipperary.

 

Superintentent, Cahir will hold a media briefing at Cahir Garda Station this afternoon 13th July at 2.30 p.m. in relation to a fatal crash on the Cashel to Clonmel road.

Gardai are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the Cashel to Clonmel road in Co. Tipperary at 21.50 on the 12th of July 2008. 

A man in his 20's, who is believed to have been the driver of one of two cars involved, was fatally injured. 

Three people, all males, traveling in the other car were take to hospital. 

One of the cars involved in the crash left the road and struck a house injuring a 7 year old boy and two women, one in her 50's and the other in her 80's. 

All of the injured were taken for treatment to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel. 

Gardai are appealing for anyone who was on the Cashel to Clonmel road yesterday evening between 9.00 p.m and 10.00 p.m., or anyone with any information, to contact them at Cahir Garda Station on 052 45630 

The scene of the crash remains sealed off pending a technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.

The road is expected to remain closed for the rest of today and diversions are in place.
