Acid spillage in Cork.

Traffic diversions are currently in place in Cork City following an acid leakage.

 

Traffic diversions are currently in place in Cork City following a hydrochloric acid leakage from a container at a business premises on Center Park Road on the South side of the city. 

The leak started at approximately 10.00am and the cause is unknown at this stage. 

Gardai from Anglesea Street and units from the Fire Service are currently at the scene and have evacuated all buildings on Center Park Road. 

The following roads are also closed at present and will remain so indefinitely:  Monaghan Road, Kennedy Road and The Marina. 

There have been no injuries reported but traffic has been disrupted. 

Motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the area. 

Updates will be provided as necessary.
