Drug seizure in Coolock, Dublin on the 12/1/08

As a result of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Coolock area, houses and mobile homes were searched on Grove Lane, Coolock, Dublin 5.

 

As a result of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Coolock area, 3 houses and 2 mobile homes were searched on Grove Lane, Coolock, Dublin 5.

The searches were carried out this morning, the 12/1/08 by members of the Coolock Garda Drug Unit supported by the Divisional Search Team.

During the course of the searches large amounts of suspected cocaine were found in 2 of the houses.

The combined potential street value of these 2 seizures is in the region of €1.5milllion euro, depending on an analysis of the substances seized

A small amount of cocaine and heroin was found in one of the mobile homes (Approx. €2,200) along with a magazine and ammunition for a firearm.

Miscellaneous items of drug paraphernalia were also recovered in this mobile home.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
