Gardai from Lifford Garda Station are at the scene of a fatal shooting at Donnyloop, Castelfin, Donegal close to the border with Strabane, Northern Ireland.
Gardai from Lifford Garda station, Donegal have identified the male found in Donnyloop, Donegal last night.
He is a 27 year old male and his name won't be released until a formal identification takes place and all family members are notified.
The State Pathologist, Marie Cassidy is at the scene and the body will be removed to Letterkenny Hospital early this afternoon, the 13/2/08 for a Post Mortem. The Garda Technical Bureau have begun a forensic examination of the scene.
Gardai are appealing for information about any vehicles that were in the Donnyloop area between 6.30 p.m. - 8 p.m. to contact Lifford Gardai on 074-914-1000 or the Garda Confidential line on 1-800-666-111.
The Garda Press Officer will hold a media briefing at 5 p.m. at Lifford Garda station.
