Aggravated burglary in Coolock, Dublin on the 27/2/08 - and arrests

Two men broke into a house on Templeview Row armed with a knife and a hammer.

 

Gardaí at Coolock have arrested a 21 year old male in relation to an aggravated burglary that occurred at Templeview Row, Coolock, Dublin 13 on Wednesday morning last, 27th February, 2008.

He was arrested in Beaumont this morning and is presently in custody in Coolock Garda Station under the provisions of section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act.

Shortly before 4am this morning, the 27/2/08 a call was received at our Command and Control Centre stating that a house had been broken into on Templeview Row, Clarehall, Dublin 13 and a male culprit had been apprehended.

On arrival at scene Coolock Gardaí found a badly injured male (21 years approx) who had sustained stab wounds lying on the kitchen floor of a house on Templeview Row.  He was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he is being treated at present.  His condition is not believed to be life threatening.

It has been alleged that 2 men broke into a house on Templeview Row armed with a knife and a hammer.  The occupants of the house were a couple and 3 children.

Threats were made and a small amount of cash and some electrical items were stolen. The man of the house chased them and a confrontation took place which continued outside the house.  This struggle ended up in the kitchen of the neighbouring house where the culprit remained until Gardaí arrived.

The man of the house received minor injuries during the course of the incident and the woman sustained cuts to her hand which required stitches.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
