Fire at Halston Street, Dublin on the 1/1/08

Gardai are investigating the cause of a fire at an apartment block at George Hill Apartments, Halston Street, Dublin.

 

Gardai are investigating the cause of a fire at an apartment block at George Hill Apartments, Halston Street, Dublin 7.  

The fire was discovered by a security man at the complex, at about 9.45 pm on the 1st of April and he immediatly notified the fire brigade. 

Five units of Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene of the fire. 

When entry was gained a 54 year old woman and a man believed to be in his sixties were discovered in an apartment. 

They were both removed to the Mater Hospital suffering from burns and smoke inhalation. 

The scene of the fire remains preserved pending technical examination by Garda Crime Scene Examiners.
