From 14 October 2015, An Garda Síochána was subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2014 in respect of records relating to the following administrative areas only:

  • human resources
  • finance
  • procurement

An Garda Síochána has been granted a number of exemptions under the FOI Act 2014 to ensure that it can perform its core functions and to ensure that state security is not compromised.
