Information for those attending Electric Picnic

Planning for the Event:

This event is strictly over 18’s. Under 12s are welcome free of charge when accompanied by their parents.

Adhere to opening and closing times – campsite opens at 9am Friday, closing 1pm Monday.  The Main Stage will open at approximately15:45hrs on Friday.

Queuing on Thursday night is strictly prohibited by An Garda Síochána and the event organisers.

Please respect the privacy and property of the residents/local community of Stradbally and Stradbally Hall.

Bar and catering facilities are available inside the venue; photo proof of age may be requested for sale of alcohol (i.e. passport, drivers license or Garda age card).

Admission of alcohol into the event site will be limited.

Do not bring glass bottles or containers to the event.

Remember the festival is outdoors and you should dress appropriately for all weather.

Professional cameras or recording equipment is not permitted.

Soft furniture will be permitted into the event site. Inflatable and fold up chairs can be purchased inside the event.

Laser and strobe lighting will be used at the event. People who have epilepsy or those affected by lighting effects should keep to the edge of the crowd.

Chinese lanterns, flares, fireworks and gas camping canisters are not permitted.

Disposable BBQs are permitted in designated areas only.

Do not bring pets (Guide Dogs will be permitted for the blind)

Do not bring petrol generators. Diesel generators only for campervans.

Tickets are still available and will be on sale at the event.


Traffic Plan:

All approved routes leading to designated parking areas for the event are clearly sign posted and patrons are urged to follow these routes to avoid unnecessary delay and traffic disruption.  Key junctions and points will be manned by Gardaí.  Designated privately operated car parking is provided adjacent to the event site on all approved routes. This parking is free to all ticket holders. No roadside parking will be permitted.

Coaches and camper vans are requested to follow the specific “Coach & Camper Van” sign’s. Vehicles displaying accredited ‘Disabled Parking Permit’ should also follow this route.

The Camper Van parking area will be open from 7pm on Thursday 30th August 2012. All other parking areas are open from 9am on Friday 31st August 2012.
There are no facilities for parking or camping prior to these times.

Routes:-

M7 Southbound  -  All event traffic travelling south on the M7 will exit at Junction 16 and on to Broomfield Roundabout on the Stradbally road.  Follow signage.

M7 Northbound    -   Exit at Junction 17 and follow signage.

Via Portlaoise -  Use relief road  and follow signage.

M8 Northbound   -  Exit at Junction 3 and follow signage through Ballacolla, Abbeyleix, Ballyroan and on to site

N80  - via Carlow – proceed straight to Stradbally.

R428  - via Athy – proceed straight to Stradbally.

All staff and services will use their pre notified routes and prominently display their accreditation pass. Non display of pass or the use of any other route will necessitate parking in the patron parking areas.

Family Camping ticket holders will be parked at the GAA Pavilion, Timahoe Road, Stradbally adjacent to the Staff Parking area.

Parking for day ticket holders (Sunday only) will be on the Portlaoise Road (N80) – Car Park Z.


All persons attending the Event are reminded to be security conscious. Do not bring valuable items such as laptops, notepads, jewellery , ipods etc, with you. Do not leave items of value exposed in vehicles  or  in tents. 
Safety deposit boxes are available on site for a nominal fee.

Camping and Parking Advice

Please co-operate and follow the instruction of the stewards and Gardaí.

Please take note of which car park you are parked in. 

A dedicated camping/parking area for people with disabilities is available.  Vehicles should display a blue HSE vehicle badge for entry to this area.

Do not park illegally. Free parking will be provided. Please follow signage.

Camping is not permitted with Sunday tickets

Camping is not permitted in the car parks.

Music is not permitted in the carparks.


On Arrival:


Admission is strictly by full ticket only. Please have your ticket available for inspection at the main entrance.

Patrons may be searched in accordance with relevant legislation.

Offensive weapons or anything considered offensive will be removed from the person on arrival.

Please respect other patrons and consume alcohol responsibly.

Legislation under the Misuse of Drugs Act will be strictly enforced.

On arrival, please take note of the location of exits, information point, first aid areas and water points.

Do not remove your wristband as you will need it to gain access around the site throughout the weekend.

Crowd surfing, pyramids and crowd moshing is not permitted and people doing so will be removed from the venue without a refund.
