Serious assault in Blanchardstown on the 9/6/12 - Update

A man aged in his late teens is expected to appear before a sitting of Blanchardstown District Court this morning (11/6/2012).

He is charged following a serious assault at Fortlawn Park Blanchardstown on the 9th June 2012.

Two men also arrested as part of the investigation were released without charge pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardai at Blanchardstown are appealing for witnesses following an incident at Fortlawn Park, Blanchardastown, on the 9th June 2012.

At approximately 630am 4 males were sitting in a parked car at Fortlawn Park when they were approached and set upon by a group of males. During the incident one of the occupants of the car, a 21 year old male, was seriously assaulted. The car was taken by the assailants and later found  on fire short distance away at Sheepmore Green.

 

The injured man was taken by ambulance to Connolly Hospital and later moved to Beaumont Hospital where he is receiving treatment for serious head injuries.

Three males in their early 20's were arrested and are currently detained Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Investigating Gardai are appealing for witnesses and in particular to anyone in the vicinity of Fortlawn Park or Sheepmore Green between 6am and 7am this morning to contact them.
