Castleblayney May Day Parade 2012

Is to be held in Castleblayney town from 2.30pm on Monday, the 7th May 2012

A substantial crowd is to be expected in attendance and while some traffic disruption may occur it will be kept to a minimum.

On commencement of the parade at 2.30pm on 7/5/12 the route of the parade will be from McGrath Road, out along the Monaghan Road and back along the the Main Street, Muckno Street and Bramley Grove to the Mc Grath Road where the various bands / floats etc will disperse The town centre will be closed to traffic from 2pm to 4pm approximately. Alternative routes via the bypass have been signposted and key junctions will be manned.

Traffic diversion signs are in place to divert traffic intending to travel via Castleblayney during the relevant time.  Planned traffic restrictions are in place for the duration of the parade and requesting motorists, particularly hgv drivers, to avoid travelling through the town during this period if possible.

If persons need to access the NEDOC, 24 hr Doctor on Call Service during this time they are advised to use the Bree Road or access via the signposted Shercock / Killycard turn of on the N.2 (Castleblayney town bypass).
