The Finance Directorate
A Civilian Director of Finance manages the Garda Finance Directorate. The Finance Section is located in Garda Headquarters in the Phoenix Park.
The Section carries out a wide range of functions. It manages and controls all expenditure incurred under the Garda Vote. It also provides Garda Management with financial information. This information helps Management with its decision making, the delivery of improved services and value for money throughout the organisation.
The Garda budget for 2012 is 1.3 billion euro. This funding is the key to ensuring that the criminal justice system works effectively in tackling crime and public disorder. This funding facilitates the anti-crime measures that target the prevention and detection of serious crime such as gangland murders, organised crime and racketeering.
