An Garda Síochána is committed to delivering an open and transparent service and it is our intention to publish information in a proactive manner in our Publication Scheme that the public may have an interest in viewing.

In our Decision Log we publish a list of all our responses to Freedom of Information Requests (excluding requests for personal information) from the commencement date 14th October 2015.

The Decision Log is divided in to the three areas we can provide data for under the Freedom of Information Act, 2014 and requests handled directly by the Freedom of Information Office.

Finance – General

The Finance Directorate has the responsibility for the financial management of the Garda Vote as well as providing strategic and operational support and advice at all levels in An Garda Síochána.

Finance – Procurement

The Procurement Section is responsible for the purchasing of goods and services for An Garda Síochána and ensures that all procurements comply with both EU Procurement rules and National Regulations.

Human Resource Management

Human Resource Management has a vital role in An Garda Síochána in the recruitment and deployment of Garda staff managing the HR needs of more than 15,000 members and civilian personnel of An Garda Síochána.

Freedom of Information Office

The Freedom of Information office provides assistance and advice to requestors and the relevant sections of An Garda Síochána that fall under the Freedom of Information Act, 2014. In fulfilling this role the FOI Office responds to requests that are outside the scope of the Act.

The Garda Internal Audit Section is involved in audit and examination of the systems and processes in An Garda Síochána, providing an objective assurance and consulting service designed to add value and improve the organisation’s operations.
