Traffic Management Plan for O.S.C.E from the 3rd to 7th December 2012
At the RDS Simmonscourt Pavilion, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.
Large volumes of traffic can be expected in the city centre and in the general Dublin 4 area throughout the event window culminating in a gradual build-up in the vicinity of the RDS grounds in the run up to the event and during the event. The RDS is also hosting the Dublin Christmas Crafts Fair in the main exhibition halls from Wednesday 5th to Sunday 8th December 2012.
From 6:00 am on 3rd December and each morning of the event (4/5/6/7th December), parking will be prohibited at the following locations:
1. Simmonscourt Road – both sides from Merrion Road to Anglesea Road.
2. Shrewsbury Road – both sides from Merrion Road to Ailesbury Road.
3. Sandymount Avenue – Left side from Merrion Road to the DART line.
(A temporary Taxi Rank will be facilitated at this location close to Merrion Road to replace the Taxi Rank removed from Simmonscourt Road.)
4 Ship Street and Castle Street: no parking from 7pm on Wednesday the 5/12/12 with both streets closed to Midnight on Thurday the 6/12/12.
Illegal parked vehicles will be towed away.
Simmonscourt Road and Shrewsbury Road will be closed to through traffic from 6.00am on Thursday the 6th and Friday the 7th December until approximately 8.30pm each evening.
3pm Thursday 6th Closure of following
Market Street South/ Grand Canal Place
School Street/ Belview ( School St / Crane St)
8pm Thursday 6th Additional Closure of following
Eccles Street/ James St
Local access for residence and business will be facilitated as far as possible on production of supporting documentation.
Access will be maintained for residents in so far as it is safe to do so, on production of valid driving licence and/or proof of address. Residents of Simmonscourt, Simmonscourt Castle and Simmonscourt Square residential developments may only access from Anglesea Road.
Traffic will be diverted via Ailesbury Road and Anglesea Road so as to avoid Simmonscourt Road and Shrewsbury Road.
